Google Play Store has a newer update 5.7.10 for Android devices available now after the recent small update of the Android OS with Play Store 5.7.6. This newer version brings with a bunch of changes and includes more Material Design, Details Page, different look for What’s New portion and Enterprise apps support. Instead of these, you will notice that the icon for the new version Play Store carrier the new, flatter look and keeping itself in line with Material Design’s aesthetics.

This update is free and you can manually download the APK of the new version if you can’t wait for that update to hit your device. Follow below few steps to install newer version of Google Play Store on your Android devices.
- Go to Setting > Security
- Ticking the box next to “Unknown Sources” to enable it. (Don’t forget to uncheck this option once you’re done install)
- Download the APK for the latest version of the Play Store by click here.
- It will pop up a message box warning that “This type of file can harm your device”. Just ignore it and click OK.
- Open the APK with tab the completed download in your notification menu and read the permissions which requested (if have any) and then click Install.
Please be noted that this APK is not quite ready for Android M Developer review or ROM ports based on the Preview images. If you experience any problems or the function is stop working, your Play Store maybe crashing and you need to revert it to an older version to get things up and running again. Perhaps, an alternative way for you to try when encounters the problems.
Clear the cache on Google Play Store:
- Settings > Apps
- Search for Google Play Store and open it, then tap “Clear cache”
- It might fix most problems you’ll experience with the Play Store.
